Today, Tuesday 8th May 2007 marks an end to the ‘Troubles’ and a fresh start for all the people of Northern Ireland. Long may it last.
Well what a week its been for Jim & Monty travelling from Perth to Northern Ireland. All flights went to schedule, departed Perth Tues at 3.30pm and arrived into Belfast on Wed at 8am…20 hours flying time. Only one small hick-up, due to the very high level of security at UK airports (you have almost to strip down to your undies) our bags didn’t make it to Belfast for us to pick them up. (They were delivered via courier later that day).
Happy to report that all family and friends are well and only too happy to spoil us rotten. Keep it up thank you.
The weather was really lovely for the first few days, blue skies and lots of sunshine. However we are now getting a wee bit of the soft Irish rain this country is famous for with the countryside is so lush and green it almost hurts your eyes.
Ours days so far have been spent driving all over the country, visiting ancient relics, eating, sightseeing at castles, eating, catching up with friends, eating, and yes some more eating. Thank goodness there is lots of walking involved too otherwise we would need a whole new wardrobe. (I will certainly be adding to mine in Paris and London).
Places of interest visited so far include, Donegal, Derry City, The Giants Causway, The Belleek Pottery Factory and Glenveagh Castle which was stunning.
On Thursday we will spend the day in Portrush and then watch a practice session for the North West 200. This is a motorcycle race which takes place on the roads and streets around Coleraine/Portrush and Portstewart and is the fastest road circuit in the world. So we are expecting plenty of excitement there.
Friday morning sees us off to Dublin………………..to be continued!

Hi Monty & Jim,
Enjoying your hott blog action, photos and videos. Keep them coming. It's just like being there!!! Have a great time on the rest of your travels.
Hi Mr M & Mr J
I see you arrived safely. Nice to see some kinky strip action happening at airports. Was it like that advert for undies? Six times through the metal detector, new item off each run through? Pics are lovely, esp the religious poster - very tasteful and not at all kitsch. Enjoy everything & you can always go on a diet when you get back. Waifism is over-rated.
Hi Mont's n' Jim, glad to hear your N-joying yourselves. All sweet here in sunny Perth. Haven't seen the boys @ #36 yet but lights are on. Had a visit from the police a couple of nights ago looking for a burglar. Bro' returned your car intact but may use it again on return from Brisbane for another visit to the block. Keep on keeping on.
Hey Monty and Jim, great to hear you've arrived safely and have been enjoying NI. Looking forward to taking you out in London - I see you're pencilling in Saturday 19th May so will get the glad rags ready for a knees up. Got to update you on the venues though - Heaven and Crash aren't really the best tickets in town anymore, but the choice is yours. Send me an email if you need my phone nu,ber. Enjoy your trip and see you soon ! xx Eds
Iconography is so rare in Australia. Jesus pic with sunny heart is nostalgic. Reminds me of fiery sermons by crazed priests. Are the boats at Portrush? Love them.
Silly me Bucranna!
