Hi Folks, Yep its that time again, we are packing the suitcases and getting on the big hairoplane. So look-out Eglinton, Berlin, London and Las Vegas!!!
Hello and welcome to 'Maison Nollamara' the blog documenting the life and times of Jim & Monty.
Maison Nollamara is located in the Perth suburb of Nollamara (which is the Aboriginal name for Red Kangaroo Paw, a species of flora unique to the locale).
Perth is situated on the magnificently beautiful West Coast of Australia, more than 2000kms from its nearest neighbour, Adelaide.
Perth residents take pride in living in the most isolated capital city on the planet. The city sits alongside the peaceful waters of the Swan River, twenty Kilometres inland of the Indian Ocean.
If you enjoy long relaxing walks along clean sandy beaches, swimming in the surf on a warm sunny day then Perth's Sunset Coast is for you. (We have amazing sunsets over the ocean)
The Port city of Fremantle lies just 26kms south of Perth on the coast. Freo (as we like to call it) is a popular spot, particularly at weekends when you will find markets, entertainment and plenty of alfresco style cafes and eateries to explore.
Just a short ferry ride from Perth or Fremantle is Rottnest Island. It is a popular holiday destination that invites people to take a break and relax.
Meet the Quokka, a unique little marsupial which is responsible for the island's name.
The Swan Valley Region is steeped in history and is one of Western Australia's oldest wine regions. The region is home to more that 40 wineries, many of which are still run by the original families who established them many years ago.
If you enjoy nature and want to immerse yourself in natural Australian bushland, then a visit to the Perth hills is a must. The area has rolling hills and valleys of native bushland, wineries and orchards, and it is perfect if you enjoy bushwalking and hiking - no where else has such amazing views over the Perth.
